Here it is again, this time of the year - the beautiful rich autumn. The time to harvest what we have grown, to taste the fruits of hard work and to enjoy the nature around us with its changing colours, shapes and temperature. To celebrate this autumn, I've put a little list together of my favourite things about this season. Let's get into it! :)
Nature comes into force again with rain, fivers flowing faster, winds getting stronger and the air getting thicker and heavier. You can smell the scent of richness, nurture and change.
The leaves change colour, fall on the ground, trees change shape and the fogs start rising. The scenery changes from open and lush into mysterious, full of magic and secrets and ready for a long winter’s sleep.
Rich yellows and browns
It is the season of magic and change – the leaves on the trees start changing colours and the fresh green of summer is slowly replaced by radiant warm yellow, golden and brown tones.
I love surrounding myself with rich colours in the interior and I make sure that I have some yellow and chocolate tones around me, such as those linen pillow covers. They help create the rich autumnal atmosphere around the house.
And of course, chocolate tastes best in autumn with a cup of hot coffee!
Nature itself dictates intricate patterns of luscious leaves turning brown, red, golden. It’s a beautiful palette of every artist’s dreams. To get inspired you only need to look around.
A quick walk in the forest or park usually fuels my creativity in autumn and I find it easier to create designs, choose colours and patterns as I can see them all around me.
I love looking for new interesting patterns that I can use in my environment and interior, such as this luxurious pattern on a cotton-linen blend pillow cover. It adds a sense of grandness to any room, sofa or bed. Inspired by natural plant patterns and enriched with autumnal golden tint, it is a true autumn favourite design.
It is a perfect time to switch from light silky fabrics of summer into warmer, thicker sturdy and soft fabrics of autumn. Linen, of course, is my number one companion all year round. But in autumn I like to introduce knitted fabrics into my wardrobe and interior.
To make the evenings with a book extra cosy, I like to snuggle up with a hand-knitted blanket and use knitted pillow covers to add another layer of comfort around me.
So let's grab a take away coffee and wrap a wooly scarf around the neck, and let's go for a walk in the park. Let me know what are your favourite things about autumn in the comments below!
